This book has an innovative premise: what if wishes were real? Wishes are mined and refined in this world much like fossil fuels. The wishes can be classified:
- First class wish: delivers what was wished for. Best to keep it short and focused
- Second class wish: can reliably deliver simple requests from a skilled user
- Third class wish: will try its hardest to find a loophole and deliver a wish that technically compliant but undesired outcome. Consider the wish to be an antagonist. They are alive and have free will
A vendor in a stall has three first class wishes, but wants to sell them cheaply to deserving buyers. The book covers the seller and the buyer’s stories and maintains interest for the entire book. The art work is quite nice. There are footnotes at the bottom whenever the graphics contain Arabic words. Highly recommended.
